Seine River Greenway Trail

The Seine River Greenway follows the Seine as it meanders from Gaboury place to Provencher boulevard. This trail isn't well suited for commuting, but is an excellent change of pace.

Walking along the Winnipeg Parkway System often feels like walking through a golf course. The ground is covered in well maintained sod, there are sporadic trees and the trail is wide and well maintained. The Seine River Greenway is a wonderful counterpart since it is a narrow winding path through a forest. In some places the trail narrows drastically and is in need of maintenance, but that only contributes to the feel of being outside the city.

The trailheads are hidden and nondescript with no signage. From the north look for a gravel path between the bridge and Robbins Doughnuts heading south. From the south look for a gravel access road heading east between a house and the condo development.

  • The trail is below the primary dyke in many places and may be subject to flooding.

Seine River trail

Can anyone tell me if I can bike along the Seine River on a trail from Provencher Blvd. all the way to John Bruce Road?

Tiny Little Pieces

The Seine river trail only exists along tiny pieces of the river. This is the northern most piece, from Provencher to Youville. From there, you would need to bike along the streets all the way down to Bishop Grandin where the trail starts up again.
