Boxing Day Boxing

For the past few years, there has been a dream in the Whyte Ridge crowd. We had thought to ourselves since there is one day of the year which is designated as boxing day, why not take advantage of it.

Most people take advantage of boxing day to line up outside large retail stores to participate in the post-Christmas sales. Others, back in the middle ages used it as a day to give gifts to the poor. We decided that we should use it for it's apparent namesake - boxing. Giving the gift of a swift punch to the gut to some of your friends.

Consequently a few days ago, Mark, Matt, Trevor, Girish and myself got together for a night of boxing. We started by playing games such as Fight Night, then actually did some proper boxing, and closed the evening with some Wii Boxing.

It was a lot of fun, although incredibly tiring. My shoulders have been sore for the past couple of days although I blame the Wii for that. This event is long in coming, since it was originally intended for last year but, for reasons that escape me, it was postponed. I hope this becomes a tradition every year.
